IRCTC non Railway business: IRCTC, a mini-ratna PSU company under the Railway Ministry, is working on major expansion to increase its business. IRCTC, which has been providing its services to Indian Railways for a long time, is now looking at its expansion outside the Railways to promote its brand and business. For this, IRCTC is continuously looking for business in other government ministries, universities and other departments, so that the company can expand its catering business outside the railways and establish itself as a brand in the hospitality sector in the country.
Outlets have been opened at these places
IRCTC said in an exchange filing that the company is currently managing catering services for several government ministries, departments, judiciary and autonomous bodies including universities. For this, the company has already created its outlets at 9 places like Telecom Department in New Delhi, Calcutta High Court, UP Secretariat in Lucknow.
Apart from this, the company is in the process of building 15 more catering units across the country in the near future. To further expand its catering business, IRCTC has already signed MoUs with various government and autonomous bodies including Border Security Force, Indian Maritime University - Kolkata, Cotton University - Guwahati and defense establishments.

On Wednesday, IRCTC shares closed at Rs 777 with a rise of about 7 percent. Action can be seen in the company's shares on Thursday. 52 week high of IRCTC share is Rs 786.40 and 52 week low is Rs 557.10. The company has so far given a return of about 21 percent on YTD.
